On to Toddlerhood
The first year of life is an amazing time for babies. They usually triple their birthweight and are about 28-32 inches tall by their first birthday. The once dependent baby who relied on reflexes to act and respond has become more independent and can move at will. Rolling over, sitting up, crawling, picking up objects, and standing are usually mastered in the first year. They may even be taking a few steps on their own. Babies can now use gestures, different cries, and some simple words to communicate their wants and needs. They have developed a relationship with their parents and caretakers and engage in purposeful two-way interactions. The next stage is toddlerhood, where babies further develop their walking, talking, and thinking.

Cookie Monster Get's a Hair Cut!!

Before the hair cut.
The very first swipe. (By the way Whitney wanted us to cut her hair too but we didn't I am just about happy with her hair.)
No more bangs.
Such a sweet little man. (hand on Daddy's leg being polite)Just took a bite of bread he snuck over from dinner.

I was just about to take over at this point.
Just a cute picture of the kids both talking to Mike. (Sorry Mike's Shoulder is in the way.)

This was just after bath and he is always cranky and wants me to hold him.

See the sad face. I had just told him no he could not have the camera.

Top view of head.

Finally Calmed down long enough for me to grab a couple of pics and then was cranky once again.

Many of ya'll know that I am a stickler for having the boys hair cut especially when they start to get shabby looking so tonight after dinner I got out the trimmers and We cut Dalton's hair. This is not his first hair cut but it is the first big hair cut (3rd hair cut). The other two cuts have been on the back and bangs and ears. While I was bathing the kids Mike was supposed to be sweeping but little did I know he was cutting off his locks as well. He came in the bathroom and said what do you think and I said Oh no and he said he got a little jealous and had to cut his as well. Many of you know that Mike has not had much hair in a while (almost 6 years.) and had told me just the other day that he was going to grow it out for one of my Christmas Presents and I said to him OK sure. But I thought to myself now how long with that last? Well It lasted about a week or so.
.

Dalton the Cookie Monster

Mouth full of cookies and two in hand with jar.

He carried it all over the room sat down and looked up like these are mine done you dare take them.

As some of ya'll my know Dalton is a cookie monster. It does not matter what kind as long as it is a cookie. Anyways I got these cute little plastic snap top lid containers to put the kids snacks in for diaper bag storage and trips and stuff. The kids just love them and the best part is that neither one of them has figured out how to open them yet but we only got them Friday. I also like these pictures because of the colors being that we are now getting ready for Christmas soon.

Peek a boo around the water trauf!

Now they were not saying a word but the actions said it all it was too cute. It all started by Dalton banging on the trauf (OK I know the word trauf is misspelled but can't find out how to spell it)and then Whitney ran around to the other side and started going up and down, Dalton was just a giggling then decided to go and get big sis but she already ran off to the next task. By the time he got around to the other side he was having so much fun going up and down looking at Mike and I that he very carefully toddled (not falling) to where we were just to make a grab at the camera.

Dalton eating Mashed Potatoes

Whenever we feed Dalton Mashed Potatoes he grabs a whole handful and shoves it in his mouth. (If you can't tell he has not quite got the handle on it yet because he has it all over him, chair, table and the floor.) We had to call in the clean up crew for this one. (Babe and George)

Dalton Pushing around anything that moves

Dalton will push around anything that he can possibly find to push around if he can make it move he is off and gone. On this particular occasion he got the potty (that we keep in the kitchen because sometimes it just quicker than running all the way down the hall) and pushed it all around the kitchen. Things that he pushes around include: potty, time out chairs, kitchen table chairs, two pushing walkers, and the walker you sit in and anything else that he sees fit to move.

Dalton free stands

Dalton has started to free stand in the last couple of days, may be a step or two. No walking yet. Maybe I can get some pictures of him free standing in the next few days.

Dalton loves to play in the yard

Dalton has been playing in the yard lately and loves to get the leaves and shred them in to pieces then of course we are still in that (every thing has to go in the mouth) phase. So once he shreds them he attempts and some times succeeds in making them ring his mouth. But are we not just to adorable.
